MINUTES:         Meeting of the Monona Grove School District, Business Services Committee, held on Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in the Nichols School, District Office Board Room, Starting at 5:02 P.M.

IV.                 Approval of the Minutes of the February 26, 2003, Business Services Committee Meeting

 

Mr. Blair moved approval of the February 26, 2003, Business Services Committee meeting minutes.  Mr. Bland seconded and the motion carried.

 

V.                   Opportunity for Public Input into the Budget Process

 

No one was in attendance to offer public input into the budget process.

 

VI.                 Opportunity for Public Input Regarding the Sale of the School District Property (House and Vacant Lot) Located on Pheasant Hill Road in Monona

 

The following individuals addressed the Committee regarding their disapproval of the district selling the vacant lot adjacent to the property at 5400 Pheasant Hill Road. 

·         Ralph Zebell, 4710 Midmoor Road, Monona

·         DeLoris VanderVelde, 5501 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona

·         Todd Miller, University of Wisconsin – Madison, Arboretum Representative

·         Lori VanderVelde, 700 E Lakeview, Whitefish Bay

·         Simone DeVore, 403 Stone Terrace, Monona

·         Marcia Woodzick, 401A Frostwoods Road, Monona

·         Sue Murphy, 404 Nichols Road, Monona

·         Deb Dade, 5409 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona

·         Loretta Hilgers, 305 Stone Terrace, Monona

·         Rosemarie Urso, 203 Stone Terrace, Monona

It was noted, by those speaking, that they did not object to the sale of the house at 5400 Pheasant Hill Road, but were concerned about the loss of trees if the lot would be 190’ deep.

 

Mary Landry, 4541 Winnequah Road, Monona, stated she had originally asked that the district sell any unused assets before they purchase additional property.  She commented that if the community had a reason to keep the property, and were able to get the funds to do so, that would also be acceptable.

 

VII.              Discussion and Possible Acceptance of Report From the City of Monona Recreation Department for the Operation of the Monona Grove High School Swimming Pool

 

Mr. Avery presented the “Monona Community Recreation, Annual Report 2002 – Monona Grove High School Community Indoor Pool” report.  He noted the district received a check from the City of Monona for $3,109.05 (our share of the profits).

 

Mr. Bland moved that the Committee accept the report from the Monona Community Recreation Department detailing the results of operating the Monona Grove High School Swimming pool for the 2002 calendar year.  Mr. Millin seconded and the motion carried.

 

VIII.            Presentation of the Preliminary Plat of Quarry Ridge Estates First Addition Located in the Village of Cottage Grove.

 

Mr. Avery shared with the Committee the preliminary plat for the Quarry Ridge Estates first addition located in Cottage Grove.  Mr. Avery also commented that today he had received the preliminary plat for the first addition to the Coyle property..

X.                   Confirm Next Meeting Date

 

Committee members confirmed that the next meeting of the Business Services Committee will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, 5:00 P.M., at Nichols School in the District Office Board Room.

Mr. Millin moved that the meeting be adjourned.  Mr. Blair seconded and the motion carried.  The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 P.M.
